Cumbernauld Colts   4  v  1  Bo’ness United

The Colts faced Bo'ness United last Saturday at a wet Broadwood stadium. The Colts looked to get their second win of the week after getting a massive result against Rangers B in Dumbarton. It was going to be a tough challenge, as Bo'ness were Unbeaten in 5 matches.

The Colts got off to a good start in the match and looked dangerous down the wings. This was shown as the Colts opened the scoring through Sean Winter just after the twenty minute mark. After receiving the ball at the edge of the box, Winter rifled the ball off the underside of the crossbar to put the Colts 1-0 up.

Colts kept on creating good chances but Bo'ness were also putting up a good fight creating a few good moves but not being able to capitalise. Colts had a shout for a penalty after Owen Andrew broke through 1v1 with the goalkeeper. When going past, Andrew went down and was booked for diving.

HT Colts 1-0 Bo'ness United

Both teams came out for the second half with lots of positive play but it was the Colts who capitalise first after captain Stephen O'Neill forced an error from Murphy in the Bo'ness goal as he handled outside the box. The following free kick allowed Craig Murray to receive a pass and finesse the ball into the top right corner from just inside the box.

Just a couple of minutes later, Bo'ness pulled one back through Kyle Wilson who dinked the ball over Marshall in the Colts goal. The two players collided and both had to go off injured.

Both teams created good chances, but the Colts came particularly close as the ball skimmed past the two Bo'ness posts. Any touch and it was a goal.

Colts managed to convert two more goals to secure the win. Lewis Warnock came off the bench to score the third and MOTM Sean Brown finished off the tie after striking the ball in the bottom corner after a counter attack.

Another great result for the Colts as the team made it back to back 4-1 victories. Colts will look to make this form continue on Friday night against Rosyth in the South Challenge Cup.
