A return to league duty after Lowland League Cup action during the week for ‘Colts as we prepare yet again to take on Albion Rovers at Broadwood on Saturday, 21st February with a 3pm KO.
Last time out
‘Colts travelled to Albyn Park on Tuesday evening to take on Broxburn Athletic in the Lowland League Cup quarter-finals.
It was a close game, with not much separating the two sides besides a handful of chances each, but ultimately it would be ‘Colts who get the golden chance.
Adam Fernie plays an excellent ball to Josh Jack who strikes it with power past the Broxburn keeper to give ‘Colts the advantage in the 72nd minute.
JJ’s strike would be enough for us to see Broxburn off and secure our place in the Lowland League Cup semi-finals, where we await the winner of Linlithgow Rose/Clydebank at Broadwood.
Previous meetings
As we approach the third meeting with Albion Rogers this season, the record is still fairly tight with two ‘Colts wins, a Rovers win, and three draws across the last six meetings.
The second ‘Colts win came only a few weeks ago in the Lowland League Cup first round, as a Josh Jack free-kick was the only goal in our 1-0 victory at Broadwood.
Opposition focus
Albion Rovers and their supports won’t be delighted with their season so far, as they sit 16th in the league, only a point away from the relegation spots despite having two games in hand on the teams below them.
‘Colts are undefeated by Albion Rovers this season, and with it being their final chance to get one back, we are sure we should expect a tough match.
Squad news
Liam Allison, Scott Walker and Joshua Farquhar are still expected to be missing for tomorrow’s match.
Abraham Osemeke is also likely to be missing due to a personal commitment, whilst Aiden McLaughlin may be absent due to illness.
See you there!
Right then, who’s getting down to Broadwood to back the team? It’s as important as always and we hope to see you on Saturday.
