Match report

Another trip along the west coast for Colts in the league as they travelled to Portland Park to face Troon in an eventful and long awaited 1-3 win.

The game began with spells of good play from both teams but it was the hosts who opened the scoring in the 17th minute who took the first goal as Callan Veitch found the back of the net directly from a free kick.

Their lead however was short lived as Colts responded just two minutes later, with Thomas Horn announcing his return to the club in style as he found the equaliser to make it 1–1.

The sides continued to battle for the advantage as the half progressed, but it was Colts again in additional time that captured the lead for the first time via Harrison Howe to go into the break 1-2.

The second half, in comparison, began and continued in much the same fashion as the first. Troon made their first changes shortly after the turn of the hour as they looked to find a route back into the contest, with a further substitution following in the 75th minute.

Colts made their first change a minute later with Liam Brown replacing Jamie Sempil as the team continued to search for a decisive third goal. Something they did not have to wait long for as Aiden McLaughlin found the back of the net directly from a corner in the 78th minute.

With the final stages approaching, Colts made a further double change as Abraham Osemeke and Lucas McCormick were introduced for Thomas Horn and Jude Freel.

Three minutes of additional time followed before the final whistle sounded, sealing Colts’ first 3 points and league victory of the Lowland League West campaign.

Thomas Horn was awarded Man of the Match for a stellar performance with a goal and an assist in his first game back at the club.
