Match report
‘Colts returned to Newtown Park following the cup final victory at the same ground earlier this season; however, it would be a more disappointing result.
We would fall to a 3-2 defeat against Bo’ness United in our final away fixture of the campaign, meaning sixth position is the highest we can finish this season.
Bo’ness United would open the scoring after the ball was headed across the goal by Jordan Armstrong to Mark McLuckie in the 23rd minute.
However, it would take less than ten minutes for ‘Colts to find the equaliser as some good football would allow Josh Farquhar to play it across to Thomas Horn, firing it into the roof of the net in the 32nd minute.
The hosts would find their response even quicker than we managed to, coming in the 33rd minute through a close-range effort from Lewis Hodgkiss.
We would trail 2-1 at the break and look to turn things around in the second half.
However, this would begin to look difficult as Bo’ness United found the back of the net next through substitute Hamza Nigama after a counter-attack in the 79th minute.
Another quick response for ‘Colts as we are awarded a penalty, which Aiden McLaughlin converts to the keeper’s middle-left in the 82nd minute.
No equaliser would mean ‘Colts would be defeated in Bo’ness, maintaining sixth position in the Lowland League table.
