Match report

Another season over with plenty to celebrate, topped off by this afternoon’s 4-1 victory over University of Stirling at Broadwood.

A sixth-place finish and a Lowland League Cup win in the bag following last season’s relegation battle is an excellent achievement, and the efforts from everyone involved this season do not go unnoticed.

Focusing on today, though, the sun was shining, though the heat was coming and going, and the mascots were out with their families to enjoy a fairly entertaining match all-in, with both sides creating plenty of opportunities throughout the match.

‘Colts looked quite comfortable at 2-0, though at 2-1 it seemed that University of Stirling were planning to force their way back into the match with a leveller.

Thankfully, though, the team fought back harder to ensure that we claimed all three points to secure our sixth-place finish.

Josh Jack finished off his season in style, netting his 20th and 21st goals in yellow and blue, missing his chance for the hat-trick from the penalty spot.

Aiden McLaughlin grabbed his 5th of the season, whilst young Mark McCaffrey finished his campaign with his 4th goal in senior football since coming through from the under-20s.
