Match report

Another point secured for Colts as Saturday afternoon meeting at home to Dalbeattie Star ends 2-2.

It was an eventful start to the match as Colts were forced into an early change in the seventh minute when an injury brought Jude Freel’s afternoon to an early end, with Olly McDonald coming on in his place.

However the early disruption did not deter them as they opened the scoring in the 21st minute following a well-executed team effort passing through the feet of Aiden McLaughlin and Jamie Sempil before falling to Danny Hatfield to provide the finish and give Colts the lead.

The whistle blew, with little else in the way of action as Colts took their 1-0 lead into the interval.

The second half started strongly with a strong effort from Aiden McLaughlin just four minutes into the half, coming within inches of doubling the advantage before ultimately rocketing off the crossbar.

Dalbeattie responded to the threat almost immediately, finding an equaliser through Gravine Kalala just a few seconds later in the 50th minute.

Energised by the goal, the visitors went on to score a second via Kyle Higgins to take the lead of the game by minute 62.

Following a series of substitutions for Dalbeattie throughout the 60th minute, Colts also turned to their bench in the 69th for a triple change. Harrison Howe, Abraham Osemeke and Caiden McMillan came on in the place of Danny Hatfield, Liam Brown and Olly McDonald as the home team continued to search for a way back into the game.

Their efforts were then rewarded thirteen minutes later in the 82nd minute as a deflection from a Dalbeattie player landed in the net to make Colts sit level at 2–2.

Five minutes of added time came and went, but ultimately neither side was able to find a decisive third goal before the final whistle. So despite the early advantage, Colts found themselves settling for a point at Broadwood.
