Another week away from the action for ‘Colts had come to an end, and we made the trip to Forthbank Stadium to take on University of Stirling on Saturday afternoon for Matchday 19.

University of Stirling took the kick off, getting us underway in the first half. It would be a strong start for ‘Colts, starting with a fast pace which would prove to be how the match would continue.

For the majority of the opening fifteen, ‘Colts would be the dominant side, despite defending a few counterattacks. To solidify the fact, ‘Colts would go on to get a fairly early opening goal.

Josh Farquhar made a strong run with the ball down the right-hand side of Stirling’s defensive half, getting to the box and playing the cross in towards Josh Jack in the middle, who would get up to meet it with a strong header, providing ‘Colts with the advantage.

Shortly after the opener, the game would begin to become more balanced between the two sides. This would remain for the remainder of the match, with the game becoming end-to-end.

Some great defending and a few more strong chances towards the end of the first half, but ‘Colts would go into the break with the scoreline remaining 1-0.

The second half would begin similarly to the first, with ‘Colts slightly more dominant whilst defending counterattacks, although this would shortly change back to the previous frantic, end-to-end football we had seen for most of the first half.

Some of ‘Colts strongest defending of the season allowed the team to see out the narrow victory in a hard-fought, entertaining Match, and we returned to Broadwood with all three points
